The Science
ECI has two complementary technologies: ExpressDetect® sensors detect specific enzymes associated with microbial infections; and ExpressProtect™ proteins make cells more resistant to the damage caused by infection. ECI's ExpressDetect® identifies signature enzyme targets and substrates using a combination of genomics and biochemical screening. ECI has peptide libraries for rapidly screening and identifying novel diagnostic sensors. ECI's ExpressProtect™ proteins are a family of proteins that prevents damage by blocking upstream mechanisms of pathogen induced apoptosis.
